## About this wine

Domaine Éric Texier is located in the northern Rhône valley, where Éric Texier and his wife Laurence farm vineyards in Saint-Julien-en-Saint-Alban along the right bank of the Rhône River. A former nuclear engineer, Texier embarked on a winemaking path in 1992 after studying oenology in Mâcon. Without ancestral vineyards to inherit, he dedicated himself to identifying and restoring historic, underappreciated terroirs across the Rhône. The cuvée 'Adèle' is named in homage to Adèle Blanc-Sec, the fearless heroine of Jacques Tardi's classic French comic book series set in early 20th-century Paris.

## Interesting facts

- The cuvée name pays homage to Adèle Blanc-Sec, the adventurous heroine of Jacques Tardi's famous French comic book series.
- Winemaker Éric Texier worked as a nuclear engineer before transitioning to viticulture in 1992.
- The wine is bottled without a foil capsule as part of the producer's minimalist, eco-friendly philosophy.

## Food pairing

This vibrant natural white wine thrives alongside fresh, high-acid, or saline foods. Its bright acidity cuts effortlessly through the rich fats of raw shellfish, goat cheeses, and delicate river fish, while matching citrus-infused garnishes.

## Wine making process

Crafted following natural winemaking principles, the grapes are 100% hand-harvested from organically farmed granite and sandy hillside soils. Vinification begins with whole-bunch pneumatic pressing, followed by natural cold settling without chemical fining agents. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in open-top concrete tanks driven purely by indigenous yeasts. The wine ages on fine lees in concrete tanks for 6 to 8 months without any oak intervention. Bottling takes place unfined and unfiltered, with only minimal sulfur added prior to release, and deliberately without a foil capsule.
