## About this wine

Domaine Albert Mann represents the union of two ancient Alsatian winemaking lineages, the Mann and Barthelmé families, whose winemaking roots in the region date back to 1654. Based around Wettolsheim in the Haut-Rhin region, the estate is renowned for its organic and biodynamic viticulture. The 2024 vintage marks an exciting transition as Antoine Barthelmé steps into estate leadership after formal winemaking studies and apprenticeships across top French domaines.

## Interesting facts

- Domaine Albert Mann is one of only eight estates in Alsace awarded the maximum 3 Stars by La Revue du Vin de France.
- On steep vineyard plots, the estate uses horses instead of tractors to prevent soil compaction and preserve vine health.
- Though labeled as Pinot Blanc, the blend is dominated by 70-75% Auxerrois for added texture and stone fruit complexity.

## Food pairing

The biting acidity and supple mid-palate weight of this Auxerrois-dominant white pair effortlessly with creamy goat cheese, flaky savory pastries, and tender pork or poached fish, slicing through rich textures while enhancing underlying fruit and spice.

## Wine making process

Grapes are hand-harvested from 30-year-old vines grown on marl-limestone and gravel soils. Vinification takes place using ambient wild yeasts in temperature-controlled vessels. The wine undergoes aging on fine lees ('élevage sur lies') to build textural breadth and savory complexity, resulting in a strictly dry style with vibrant structure.
