Founded after a family union linked to the famed Portuguese Romantic writer Viscount of Almeida Garrett, the estate earned historic distinction at the 1889 Paris Universal Exposition. Today, winemaker Manuel Almeida Garrett oversees 44 hectares of family vineyards, crafting high-altitude wines that showcase the granitic soils of Beira Interior.

## Food pairing

The lively natural effervescence and vibrant acidity cut through fat in raw fish and cured meats while cleansing the palate against delicate heat and citrus dressings.

## Wine making process

Made using the traditional Método Ancestral (Pétillant Naturel) from 100% Touriga Franca grapes harvested by hand into small 15 kg crates. Following light crushing, spontaneous fermentation begins with wild indigenous yeasts. The wine is bottled under crown cap before primary fermentation finishes, capturing natural carbonation in the bottle. It remains unfiltered and non-disgorged, retaining fine cloudiness and natural lees sediment.
