## About this wine

Matteo Furlani is a fourth-generation winemaker tending small, high-altitude vineyard plots up to 720 meters above sea level in the Dolomites above Trento. Working biodynamically, Furlani honors traditional viticultural practices passed down by his family, training vines with the classic Pergola Trentina system. The name Altopiano refers to the Vigolana Plateau, where high-elevation mountain conditions give this orange wine its vibrant alpine character.

## Interesting facts

- Matteo Furlani uses natural alpine snow outside his cellar for winter cold stabilization.
- The 25-day skin contact gives this Müller-Thurgau a subtle pinkish-orange hue.
- Vineyards are situated at high altitudes up to 720 meters in the Trentino Dolomites.

## Food pairing

The wine's striking mountain acidity and soft phenolic grip cut cleanly through rich poultry and oily freshwater fish. Its herbal profile complements fresh goat cheeses and spring vegetable dishes nicely.

## Wine making process

The Müller-Thurgau grapes are 100% de-stemmed and gently pressed with pneumatic equipment before undergoing 25 days of skin contact. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, without temperature control or chemical additives. The wine ages on its fine lees until spring and undergoes natural cold stabilization outside in the winter alpine snow before being bottled without fining or filtration.
