## About this wine

Casa Vinicola Triacca was founded in 1897 by the Triacca family, originating from the Poschiavo Valley. Across five generations, the family has championed high-altitude mountain viticulture under their guiding philosophy 'Dalla Mia Vigna' ('From My Vineyard'). Situated in the steep Rhaetian Alps of Lombardy's Valtellina region, Triacca produces Aurora from terraced vineyards perched on historic dry-stone walls overlooking the Adda River valley.

## Interesting facts

- Vineyards are cultivated on extreme alpine terraced slopes supported by centuries-old dry-stone walls.
- In Valtellina, the Nebbiolo grape variety is known locally by the regional name Chiavennasca.
- The Triacca family has maintained an uninterrupted tradition of estate winemaking for five generations since 1897.

## Food pairing

This alpine Nebbiolo displays bright high-altitude acidity, tender tannins, and delicate fruit freshness, making it extraordinarily versatile at the table. It effortlessly cuts through rich alpine cheeses like Bitto and Casera, complements cured meats, and balances earthy wild mushrooms without overwhelming delicate meat flavors.

## Wine making process

The 100% Nebbiolo (locally known as Chiavennasca) grapes are harvested by hand in early October from high-altitude terraced slopes. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel vats with automated punch-downs and periodic délestage at around 27°C over 12–15 days to gently extract delicate fruit and floral aromas while preserving fresh acidity. The wine is then aged in large oak casks and stainless steel tanks for 6 to 12 months prior to bottle release.
