## About this wine

Fontanabianca Barbaresco Bordini 2021 is a single-vineyard wine from the Barbaresco DOCG appellation in Piedmont, Italy. Produced by the family-owned Fontanabianca winery, it showcases the Nebbiolo grape from the historic Bordini vineyard in Neive. This vineyard is characterized by calcareous soils and old Nebbiolo vines, some over seventy years old and ungrafted. The winery's name, 'white fountain,' references a natural spring on their estate, symbolizing their connection to the land. The 2021 vintage experienced favorable weather, leading to grapes with intense fruit and a well-defined structure. Fontanabianca aims to express the territory of Neive in their wines, balancing traditional winemaking with modern approaches.

## Wine making process

Fontanabianca Barbaresco Bordini 2021 is produced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel vats with temperature control, using indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged for approximately 13-15 months in large wooden barrels (botti) and/or cement tanks, followed by up to 15 months of bottle aging. The 2021 harvest took place manually at the end of October. Fontanabianca emphasizes natural farming practices in their viticulture, avoiding synthetic fertilizers.
