## About this wine

Azienda Agricola Fratelli Alessandria was founded in 1870 in the commune of Verduno, within Italy's famed Barolo region. The family-operated estate spans generations and uses exclusively estate-grown Nebbiolo grapes. Since 1880, the family has produced a classic bottling combining multiple site exposures, officially designated as Barolo del Comune di Verduno starting with the 2017 vintage to highlight the unique terroir of Verduno.

## Interesting facts

- Fratelli Alessandria has been producing this classic Barolo blend continuously since 1880.
- The 2021 vintage combines fruit from five distinct vineyard crus in the commune of Verduno.
- The estate remains entirely family-operated across seven generations of winemakers.

## Food pairing

High tannins and firm acidity require savory proteins, rich fats, and earthy flavors. The wine's structural intensity pairs best with slow-braised red meats, game, rich pasta dishes, and mature cheeses that soften tannic grip.

## Wine making process

Grapes are harvested 100% manually from five distinct sub-zones across Verduno. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with an extended maceration of 25 to 30 days. The wine ages for approximately 36 months in traditional large Slavonian and French oak casks (20-40 hectoliters), followed by 2 months in stainless steel and at least 6 months of bottle refinement prior to release.
