## About this wine

Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata 2020 is a single-vineyard Barolo DOCG produced by SOC. AGR. RATTI (Renato Ratti) from the renowned Rocche dell'Annunziata cru in La Morra, Piedmont. This cru is situated at approximately 300 meters elevation with a southeast-facing slope, characterized by blue marl soil interspersed with sand. Renato Ratti, a key figure in Barolo cru classification, recognized this vineyard's importance. The wine's label bears the coat of arms of a local noble family and the Latin inscription 'Probasti me et cogniusti me'. It is bottled in the distinctive Albeisa bottle, created by Renato Ratti to signify territorial uniqueness.

## Interesting facts

## Food pairing

The wine's robust tannins and full body are well-suited to rich protein dishes, where they can soften and integrate with the meat's fats and proteins. The wine's inherent complexity and aromatic profile can complement the savory, earthy, and sometimes gamey notes found in these dishes.

## Wine making process

The grapes for Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata are handpicked in October. Following de-stemming and pressing, alcoholic fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel containers for three to four weeks, employing the submerged cap maceration technique. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in steel. The wine is then aged for approximately two years in 25 hl oak barrels, followed by about one year of bottle refinement before release.
