## About this wine

Founded in 1718, Weingut Geheimer Rat Dr. von Bassermann-Jordan is one of the most historic and esteemed wine estates in Germany's Pfalz region. Located in Deidesheim and a founding member of the VDP, the estate manages prestigious vineyard sites while embracing innovative methods. The Fass 615 project represents a modern interpretation of traditional skin-fermented white winemaking, combining organic viticulture with the unique terroir of the region.

## Interesting facts

- Founded in 1718, Bassermann-Jordan was a founding member of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter).
- Fass 615 spends two full weeks fermenting on its grape skins, developing light copper highlights and distinct texture.
- The wine is aged in traditional 1,200-liter oak Stückfass casks and bottled completely unfiltered.

## Food pairing

The unique skin-contact texture and subtle phenolic structure bridge the gap between white and red wine pairing profiles. Crisp acidity cuts through cream and rich proteins, while earthy notes harmonize seamlessly with mushrooms, poultry, and roasted vegetables.

## Wine making process

Harvested by hand from organic vineyard parcels around Deidesheim and Ruppertsberg, the grapes undergo 14 days of skin maceration with twice-daily punch-downs to extract subtle texture and phenolic complexity. Fermentation occurs spontaneously, and the wine is aged on its fine lees in traditional 1,200-liter oak Stückfass casks with regular bâtonnage before being bottled unfiltered.
