## About this wine

BelColle Barbaresco is a red wine from Piedmont, Italy, produced by Bosio Family Estates srl from 100% Nebbiolo grapes. It holds the prestigious Barbaresco DOCG appellation. The Bosio family, with three generations of winemaking experience, operates under a 'glocal' philosophy, respecting their territory while engaging with a global market. They acquired the Bel Colle winery in 2015, focusing on authentic regional expressions. The vineyards are located in Neive and Barbaresco, at altitudes of 200-300 meters, on clayey-calcareous soils. The 2019 vintage has been recognized for its quality, with specific vineyard designations receiving high critical acclaim.

## Interesting facts

- Barbaresco DOCG requires a minimum of 26 months aging, with at least 9 months in oak.
- Nebbiolo grapes are known for their pale color despite their powerful tannins.
- The 'Pajorè' designation of this wine has received top scores from prestigious critics.
- Vineyards are situated between 200-300 meters above sea level.

## Food pairing

The wine's full body and firm tannins are well-suited to rich, protein-heavy dishes, where they can cut through fat and complement the meat's texture. The wine's inherent complexity and potential for savory notes also pair harmoniously with earthy ingredients like truffles and aged cheeses.

## Wine making process

BelColle Barbaresco is produced using 100% Nebbiolo grapes. The grapes are cultivated using sustainable and low-impact viticulture practices, including manual harvesting and selection, organic fertilization, and integrated pest management. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats with selected indigenous yeasts, without forced intervention, for a period of 10 days. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 24 months in oak barrels, then spends an additional 6 months in bottle before release. This process adheres to the strict aging requirements of the Barbaresco DOCG appellation.
