## About this wine

Tinto Amorio was founded by Anish Patel following a life-altering car accident in which he broke his spine. During a six-month bedridden recovery, he pivoted away from finance to pursue his passion for minimal-intervention natural winemaking. Operating out of Healdsburg, California, Tinto Amorio is a minority-owned independent winery run by family and friends. The winery is dedicated to social impact, donating 5% of all proceeds to food banks in Los Angeles and Orange County.

## Interesting facts

- Founded by Anish Patel while recovering from a spinal injury sustained in a car accident.
- The winery donates 5% of all proceeds to Southern California food banks.
- Racking off thick lees is aligned with lunar cycles during full or new moons.
- Made with 22 to 24 days of whole-berry skin contact for distinct natural orange structure.

## Food pairing

Orange wines with light skin tannins and vibrant natural acidity offer exceptional versatility. The gentle tannic grip complements rich street tacos and oily fish, while energetic acidity cuts through rich butter sauces and highlights fresh seafood and spicy Thai cuisine.

## Wine making process

Crafted using organically farmed grapes, this wine undergoes whole-berry semi-carbonic maceration with 22 to 24 days of skin contact. Fermentation is 100% spontaneous using native yeasts. The wine is aged sur lie for roughly three and a half months in a mix of neutral French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. Winemaking alignment follows lunar cycles, with racking performed during full or new moon weeks. The wine is bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with minimal added sulfur dioxide.
