## About this wine

Les Terres Dubien is a micro-estate established in 2020 by artisan winemaker Benoit Joussot-Dubien on the northern Médoc peninsula in Bordeaux. Working across three hectares of biodynamically farmed clay-limestone soils, Joussot-Dubien subverts regional Bordeaux traditions. The name Blouge is a French portmanteau combining Blanc and Rouge, reflecting the unconventional co-fermentation of red Merlot and white Sémillon grapes.

## Interesting facts

- The name 'Blouge' is a French portmanteau combining 'Blanc' (white) and 'Rouge' (red).
- Subverts Bordeaux tradition by co-fermenting red Merlot grapes with white Sémillon grapes.
- Produced on a tiny micro-estate spanning just 3 hectares in the northern Médoc.

## Food pairing

This light-bodied, highly fresh red wine served slightly chilled pairs exceptionally well with lighter meats, fresh summer produce, and charcuterie where soft tannins and vibrant acidity complement rich fat without dominating the meal.

## Wine making process

Grapes are harvested manually from certified organic and biodynamic vineyards. The winemaking process involves low-extraction co-fermentation of red Merlot and white Sémillon grapes using native yeasts without commercial additives. The wine is aged in neutral vats and old oak barrels with minimal to zero added sulfites, bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve fresh fruit energy.
