## About this wine

Bodegas La Horra is a Ribera del Duero project established in 2009 by renowned Rioja producer Bodegas Roda. After four years of extensive terroir research across Spain to find the ideal site for Tempranillo outside Rioja, Roda selected La Horra in Burgos. They partnered with the local Balbás family, who owned exceptional old bush vine vineyards in the region, creating an estate focused on producing expressive, high-altitude Ribera del Duero wines.

## Interesting facts

- Rioja producer Bodegas Roda spent four years researching Spanish terroirs before choosing La Horra in Ribera del Duero.
- The 2019 vintage experienced natural flower dropping that resulted in loose bunches and highly concentrated berries.
- Grapes for Corimbo I are sourced from dry-farmed bush vines ranging from 50 to over 70 years of age.

## Food pairing

The high tannic structure and full body of Corimbo I demand rich proteins and animal fats, which coat the palate and soften the tannins. Earthy flavors like wild mushrooms and cured cheeses harmoniously echo the tertiary potential and complexity of this aged red wine.

## Wine making process

Harvested manually in 16 kg crates with double selection. The grapes undergo pre-fermentation maceration followed by spontaneous alcoholic fermentation using indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled French oak and stainless steel vats. Malolactic fermentation occurs in oak barrels. The wine is aged for 16 months in oak barriques (80% French, 20% American) and naturally clarified using egg albumen before bottling.
