## About this wine

Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet was formed through the union of historical vineyard holdings from Domaine Denis Berthaut in Fixin and Domaine François Gerbet in Vosne-Romanée. Today, the estate is led by winemaker Amélie Berthaut alongside her husband Nicolas Faure. This cuvée originates from the 1.6-hectare Concoeur parcel, situated on a high limestone plateau at 300 to 400 meters elevation, perched directly above the prestigious villages of Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges.

## Interesting facts

- The old vines in the Concoeur parcel were originally planted in the 1960s by Amélie Berthaut's grandfather.
- The high-elevation plateau sits directly above the world-famous vineyards of Vosne-Romanée.
- Winemaker Amélie Berthaut trained in Bordeaux, Bandol, and California before returning to her family's estate.

## Food pairing

The bright acidity and energetic red fruit structure of this cool-climate Pinot Noir perform brilliantly with lean meats, light game, and earth-driven mushroom dishes. Low-to-moderate tannins keep the balance supple without clashing with refined sauces or subtle textures.

## Wine making process

Hand-harvested from old vines planted in the 1960s and 1970s, the grapes are predominantly destemmed and undergo a cold maceration for 3 to 5 days. Fermentation occurs in concrete vats using indigenous yeasts, accompanied by gentle pump-overs. The wine is aged for 12 to 14 months in used French oak barrels and large oak foudres with zero new oak, ensuring the pure fruit character and vibrant terroir expression remain unmasked before light filtration and bottling.
