## About this wine

Domaine Michel Gros is a historic estate based in Vosne-Romanée, with winemaking origins in Burgundy dating back to 1830. Michel Gros founded his individual domaine in 1978, starting with two hectares of vineyards in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits inherited from his father, Jean Gros. Over the decades, the domain has expanded to 23 hectares across prestigious appellations. Since 2019, Pierre Gros has managed the family estate. The Hautes-Côtes de Nuits parcels lie west of Nuits-Saint-Georges around the village of Arcenant on high-elevation slopes.

## Interesting facts

- Michel Gros established his personal domain in 1978 with just 2 hectares in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits.
- The vineyards are situated around 100 meters higher than the main Côte hillside, delaying harvest by over a week.
- The Gros family line has been producing wine in Vosne-Romanée since 1830.

## Food pairing

The bright acidity and fine, crunchy tannins of cool-climate Pinot Noir provide a refreshing counterpart to duck, rabbit, and poultry. Earthy mushroom flavors harmonize naturally with the grape's delicate structural profile.

## Wine making process

The grapes undergo traditional Burgundian vinification in temperature-controlled vats with gentle cap management to retain fine fruit definition and moderate extraction. Because of the higher elevation of the Hautes-Côtes vineyards, harvest typically occurs around eight days later than on the lower Côte de Nuits slopes. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for approximately 18 months in French oak barrels, incorporating 20% to 30% new oak.
