## About this wine

Domaine Gérard Julien & Fils is located in Comblanchien and traces its heritage in Burgundy back to the late 19th century. Today, fifth-generation winemaker Étienne Julien manages the 10-hectare estate across 34 individual plots, establishing the domaine as a rising star of the Côte de Nuits. The 'Origine' cuvée represents the foundational red wine of the estate, sourced from family-owned plots in the Corgoloin and Comblanchien areas. Designed to showcase authentic terroir-driven character, this wine is acclaimed for its purity and meticulous parcel selection.

## Food pairing

The vibrant acidity and fine, supple tannins of Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir harmonize beautifully with delicate poultry, earthy mushroom preparations, and savory cured meats without overpowering the food.

## Wine making process

Grapes are harvested 100% manually with strict double sorting before complete destemming. Fermentation occurs naturally with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled concrete tanks following a short cold pre-fermentation maceration. Mechanical extraction is kept minimal with light pigeage to preserve fine fruit elegance. The wine is aged in a combination of traditional 228-liter French oak barrels with low-to-moderate new oak proportion and concrete tanks.
