## About this wine

La Spinetta was established in 1977 by Giuseppe Rivetti in Castagnole Lanze, Piedmont. Bricco Quaglia holds a special place in Italian winemaking history as the first single-vineyard (cru) Moscato d'Asti ever produced. The estate was founded with a dedicated focus on elevating Moscato from a simple table wine to a refined expression of terroir before expanding into iconic red wines.

## Interesting facts

- Bricco Quaglia was Italy's first ever single-vineyard (cru) Moscato d'Asti, created in 1977.
- La Spinetta started exclusively as a Moscato producer before making any red wines.
- The grapes come from 35 to 45-year-old vines cultivated organically at 300–350 meters altitude.

## Food pairing

The sweetness and effervescence of Moscato d'Asti excel when paired with fruit-based desserts, leavened pastries, or rich blue cheeses where residual sugar balances saltiness. Low alcohol and lively fruitiness also soothe spicy chili heat.

## Wine making process

Hand-picked grapes from 35- to 45-year-old vines grown on calcareous marl soils undergo gentle pressing. The free-run juice is fermented in temperature-controlled pressurized stainless steel vats (autoclaves) using the Martinotti-Charmat method at 15°C. Fermentation is halted by rapid chilling once reaching around 5% ABV, retaining natural residual sugars and delicate sparkling bubbles.
