## About this wine

Azienda Agricola Tezza was founded in 1960 by grandparents Giovanni and Virginia Tezza in the Valpantena valley of Veneto, Italy. Today, the estate is managed by cousins Flavio, Vanio, and Federico Tezza. Tezza is one of the rare estate-bottled producers in the Valpantena sub-zone, maintaining complete control over every stage of production from organic grape growing to bottling. The Brolo Delle Giare bottling represents an exceptional single-vineyard site in Poiano and Nesente di Valpantena.

## Interesting facts

- Tezza is one of the few producers in Valpantena that controls 100% of its grape production from vine to bottle.
- Uses a short 30-day appassimento drying process to bridge fresh Valpolicella with concentrated Amarone styles.
- The vineyard soils feature up to 37% total limestone, imparting distinct mineral complexity.

## Food pairing

The combination of high alcohol, partial grape drying concentration, vibrant acidity, and structured tannins makes this wine ideal for rich, hearty protein dishes and aged cheeses. The high acid cuts through fat in slow-cooked meats, while the structure pairs seamlessly with savory umbrella flavors.

## Wine making process

Grapes are hand-harvested in September and selected carefully before undergoing a short 30-day appassimento (drying) in temperature- and humidity-controlled drying lofts (fruttaio). After gentle crushing, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with daily racking and délestage to maximize extraction. The wine matures for 24 to 36 months in large wooden oak barrels, followed by an additional 6 months of bottle aging prior to release.
