Produced by Bruna Grimaldi, a family winery with roots in the Langhe region since the mid-20th century, the wine's name 'Scassa' signifies the historical challenges of cultivating its land. The winery emphasizes quality derived from the vineyard, employing sustainable and organic farming practices. The vineyards are located across different municipalities, with soils composed of limestone, specifically Marne di Sant'Agata Fossili and Formazioni di Lequio, at altitudes ranging from 200 to 450 meters.

## Wine making process

Bruna Grimaldi Barbera d'Alba Superiore Scassa 2022 is produced from hand-harvested grapes, picked between mid-September and late October. The clusters are destemmed before fermentation in temperature-controlled tanks, with a skin-contact maceration period of 10-12 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place in old concrete tanks. The wine then undergoes aging for a minimum of 6 months in tonneaux and large barrels, followed by bottle aging. The 'Superiore' designation requires a minimum of 12 months of aging, with at least 4 months in barrel.
