## About this wine

Castello Tricerchi is a historic estate dominated by its majestic 13th-century castle, completed in 1441 by the Tricerchi family. Located in the northern sector of Montalcino, Tuscany, the estate spans 400 hectares, with 13 hectares dedicated to specialized vineyards. The Squarcia family, direct descendants of the Tricerchi, currently manages the property. The northern microclimate of Montalcino provides cooler temperatures and significant diurnal shifts, resulting in a Brunello of exceptional elegance, freshness, and structural balance.

## Interesting facts

- The castle was designed by the famous Alessi family and has stood as a fortress in Montalcino since 1441.
- The family motto 'Non In Latera Praenos' translates to 'Not on our sides,' symbolizing strength and defense.
- The estate's historic aging cellars are located directly beneath the castle's dungeons, providing naturally perfect temperature and humidity.

## Food pairing

Brunello's high acidity and firm tannins require rich, savory dishes with ample protein and fat to soften the structure. Classic Tuscan pairings featuring game, roasted meats, and aged cheeses harmonize beautifully with the wine's earthy and red-fruit profile.

## Wine making process

The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino is crafted from 100% Sangiovese Grosso hand-harvested from the estate's sustainably farmed vineyards. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with skin contact lasting approximately 20 days. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for 30 months in large Slavonian oak casks (botti), preserving the purity of the Sangiovese fruit. It undergoes an additional refinement period in the bottle for at least 6 months before release.
