## About this wine

Christian Tschida produces wines in the Burgenland region of Austria, centered around Illmitz on the eastern shore of Lake Neusiedl. The Brutal brand originated as an international collaboration between cult natural winemakers and Bar Brutal in Barcelona, where producers bottle unique, highly experimental cuvees under the iconic handwritten label motif. Tschida dedicates ten percent of his annual production to experimental cellar projects like this Gemischter Satz, an authentic Austrian white field blend grown on old vines rooted in sandy gravel, schist, and limestone soils.

## Interesting facts

- Brutal is a collaborative label shared by cult natural winemakers and Bar Brutal in Barcelona.

- Tschida reserves 10% of his annual yield specifically for wild, experimental zero-zero releases.

## Food pairing

The electric acidity and mineral clarity of this natural white field blend cut through light seafood dishes and fresh goat cheese while harmonizing seamlessly with citrus-marinated preparations.

## Wine making process

Grapes for Brutal White are hand-harvested from old vines managed with organic and biodynamic practices. In the vineyard, vine shoots are gently tucked in rather than trimmed, and specific plots utilize double-vine planting to force deep root competition. In the cellar, Tschida uses custom basket and pneumatic presses to exert minimal pressure on the fruit. Fermentation begins spontaneously with native yeasts in large Stockinger oak vats without temperature control. The wine ages on fine lees in large neutral wooden vats with no racking, fining, filtration, or added sulfur dioxide.
