## About this wine

Casa Setaro is located in Trecase on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, within the Vesuvio National Park—a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve designated in 1995. Estate owners Massimo Setaro and Maria Rosaria focus on preserving native grape varieties grown on ungrafted, pre-phylloxera vines (piede franco) rooted in rich volcanic soils.

## Interesting facts

- The vines are ungrafted (piede franco) and planted directly into volcanic ash and pumice.
- Vineyards are located inside Mount Vesuvius National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
- Made completely without oak to preserve the crisp mineral and saline character of volcanic terroir.

## Food pairing

This bone-dry white wine's crisp acidity and saline drive pair effortlessly with fresh seafood, balancing fried dishes while complementing the sweetness of delicate shellfish and fresh soft cheeses.

## Wine making process

Hand-harvested from vineyards situated at 250 meters elevation in pure volcanic ash and pumice, the grapes undergo careful cluster selection and soft pressing of free-run must. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for approximately 20 days. The wine ages without oak contact, resting for six months on fine lees in stainless steel and two months in bottle prior to release.
