## About this wine

Campogrande Orvieto Classico is produced by Santa Cristina, a historic winery established in 1946 under the Marchesi Antinori umbrella. Located in Umbria, the vineyards span the region surrounding the volcanic cliffside town of Orvieto. Orvieto Classico DOC is one of Italy's most celebrated historic white wine appellations, renowned for its complex terroir blending volcanic tufa, marl, clay, and limestone scree.

## Interesting facts

- The Santa Cristina brand was created by the Antinori winemaking family in 1946.
- Orvieto's historical vineyards sit atop ancient volcanic tufa rock formations.
- Procanico is a prized local clone of Trebbiano Toscano specific to Umbria.

## Food pairing

The vibrant acidity and medium body of Orvieto Classico make it an ideal pairing for delicate seafood and fresh vegetable-forward dishes. The clean citrus notes enhance delicate fish oils while cutting through mild cheeses without overwhelming the palate.

## Wine making process

Procanico and Grechetto grapes are harvested separately at optimal ripeness. After destemming and gentle soft-pressing, the must undergoes natural cold settling at 10°C (50°F). Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks below 18°C (64°F). The wine matures entirely in stainless steel before bottling to preserve fruit purity without oak aging.
