## About this wine

Introduced by the legendary Antinori family, Santa Cristina has been crafting accessible, regional Italian wines since 1946. Campogrande pays tribute to the historic winemaking heritage of Orvieto in Umbria, an area celebrated since Etruscan and Roman times for its white wines. Situated around Orvieto's dramatic volcanic cliff, the vineyards feature complex soils of sandstone, marl, and limestone that lend balance and character to this iconic regional blend.

## Interesting facts

- Orvieto's winemaking tradition dates back to the Etruscans, who carved cellars directly into volcanic rock.
- The Antinori family established Santa Cristina in 1946, opening a modern dedicated facility in Cortona in 2006.
- The primary grape Procanico is the local Umbrian biotype of Trebbiano Toscano, prized for vibrant acidity.

## Food pairing

This crisp, light-to-medium-bodied white wine thrives alongside light proteins, delicate seafood, and fresh herbs. High natural acidity cuts through olive oil and light cheeses, while vibrant fruit notes naturally complement citrus and green vegetable flavors.

## Wine making process

Grapes are harvested separately at peak maturity, destemmed, and gently pressed. The must is cooled to 10°C for natural static settling before undergoing temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks at temperatures below 18°C. The wine ages exclusively in stainless steel tanks prior to bottling to preserve crisp fruit purity and fresh aromatics without oak influence.
