## About this wine

Azienda Agricola Carlo Revello & Figli was established in 2016 following the division of the Fratelli Revello estate. Managed by Carlo Revello, his wife Mariarosa, and their son Erik, the winery is located in the Santa Maria hamlet of La Morra in Piedmont. The Giachini single vineyard (MGA) sits on a southeast-facing slope at 270 meters elevation in the Annunziata hamlet, featuring 70-year-old Nebbiolo vines planted circa 1954 in calcareous clay and Tortonian marl soils.

## Interesting facts

- The Giachini vineyard features 70-year-old Nebbiolo vines originally planted around 1954.
- Winemaker Erik Revello shifted from modern roto-fermenters back to traditional gentle oak aging.
- Giachini sits right below the famous Rocche dell'Annunziata cru in La Morra.

## Food pairing

High tannins and lively acidity require rich proteins, dark meat fats, and intense savory flavors to balance the wine's robust structure. Dishes featuring white truffle, slow-braised meats, or mature hard cheeses seamlessly complement the complex earthy and floral profile of Nebbiolo.

## Wine making process

For the warm 2022 vintage, winemaker Erik Revello implemented a gentle cellar approach to accommodate thinner grape skins. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts, followed by a lower-temperature three-week maceration. The wine was aged for 24 months in a combination of large Austrian oak casks and neutral French oak barriques, adhering to classic traditions.
