## About this wine

Sileni Estates, established in 1997, is named after the Sileni of Greek mythology, who were companions of Bacchus and celebrated great wine, food, and company. The Cellar Selection range is designed to showcase classic, fruit-forward varietal characteristics. Sourced from the prestigious Marlborough region on New Zealand's South Island, this Sauvignon Blanc represents the vibrant, punchy style that has made the region world-famous.

## Interesting facts

- Sileni is named after the mythical Sileni, companions of Bacchus who celebrated great wine, food, and company.
- The wine blends fruit from the warmer Wairau Valley and the cooler, windier Awatere Valley for optimal balance.
- Sileni Estates is fully certified by Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand (SWNZ).

## Food pairing

The high acidity and intense herbaceous and citrus profile of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc make it a perfect match for fresh, high-acid dishes. It cuts beautifully through creamy goat cheese and complements fresh seafood, while its green notes pair naturally with herbaceous dishes and green vegetables like asparagus.

## Wine making process

The grapes are harvested from selected vineyard sites across the Wairau and Awatere Valleys in Marlborough at peak flavor maturity. Upon arrival at the winery, the fruit is quickly pressed with minimal skin contact to preserve freshness. Fermentation is carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks using selected yeast strains to maximize primary fruit aromatics and maintain the wine's signature crisp acidity. It is bottled early to retain its youthful energy.
