## About this wine

Sturm Chardonnay Andritz is a 100% Chardonnay from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Italy, specifically within the Collio Goriziano or Collio, Friuli DOP appellation. The wine is produced by Sturm, a winery with a legacy dating back over a century to Austrian forefathers who settled in the Collio. The 'Andritz' designation is associated with a unique personality trait, linking the wine to a Libra whose favorite color is orange. Sturm's philosophy centers on crafting wines with personality and achieving the highest elegance in their Chardonnay expressions, aiming for a balance described as 'International by definition, refined by craft.'

## Food pairing

The wine's vibrant acidity cuts through the richness of creamy sauces and fatty fish, while its medium-plus body provides a substantial enough frame to complement richer dishes. Subtle oak notes, if present, can harmonize with grilled or roasted preparations.

## Wine making process

The production of Sturm Chardonnay Andritz begins with hand-harvested Chardonnay grapes, which are de-stemmed and undergo a 24-hour cold maceration. The must is then fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16-18°C. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for six months. Eighty percent of the wine matures in stainless steel tanks, while the remaining twenty percent is aged in neutral, untoasted French oak tonneaux. This combination of stainless steel and limited wood aging contributes to the wine's balanced profile.
