## About this wine

Château de la Gravelle in Gorges is one of the historic estates of the Muscadet region, featuring classical buildings from the era of Louis XIII and a landmark windmill at the hill summit. Managed by mother-daughter team Véronique Günther-Chéreau and Aurore, a trained oenologist, Vignobles Günther-Chéreau focuses on organic farming, parcel-specific winemaking, and expressing the distinct volcanic gabbro terroir of Gorges.

## Interesting facts

- The estate features historical Louis XIII architecture and a landmark windmill on the hill summit.
- Vines grow on rare volcanic gabbro rock subsoils covered by only 40 cm of clay topsoil.
- Managed by a dedicated mother-daughter team including trained oenologist Aurore Günther-Chéreau.

## Food pairing

The striking high acidity and distinctive salty minerality of Muscadet sur lie slice cleanly through rich seafood fats while beautifully enhancing the natural brine of shellfish and the tangy freshness of young goat cheese.

## Wine making process

Sourced from old vines up to 50 years of age grown on volcanic gabbro subsoil covered by clay. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel and underground glass-lined concrete vats. The wine ages strictly on its fine lees over the winter until bottling at the end of March following harvest, preserving vibrant freshness, minerality, and a light natural perlant spritz.
