## About this wine

Château Fuissé Tête de Cuvée is a white wine from the AOP Pouilly-Fuissé appellation in Burgundy, France. Produced by Château Fuissé, a winery with a family legacy dating back to 1862, this 2022 vintage is a testament to generations of winemaking expertise. The wine's character is shaped by a blend of over 40 vineyard plots across the appellation, drawing from diverse terroirs. Plots in Pouilly, with high limestone content, contribute perfume and delicacy, while those in Fuissé, with more clay, offer fuller structure. The vines are an average of 30 years old. The 2022 vintage experienced high temperatures and stress on the vines, leading to a postponed harvest and a late ripening period. This cuvée is recognized for its comprehensive profile, integrating floral scents, minerality, and roundness, and is often cited as offering significant value within the fine Burgundy category.

## Wine making process

The production of Château Fuissé Tête de Cuvée involves the separate vinification of grapes from over 40 vineyard plots within the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. This allows for the individual expression of each terroir. Following vinification, 60% of the wine is aged in oak barrels, with 25% of that being new oak, while the remaining 40% matures in stainless steel tanks. The oak barrels are prepared in the summer and kept on lees. The wine is assembled after harvest, without lees, and bottled in December. The 2022 harvest commenced on September 5th, with yields recorded between 60-65 hl/ha.
