## About this wine

Château Lanessan is a red Bordeaux Blend from the Haut-Médoc appellation, produced by the Bouteiller family who have owned the estate for eight generations. Situated on deep Garonne gravel soils, the property focuses on traditional winemaking while maintaining a commitment to environmental projects. The estate aims to produce wines that are representative of its terroir and offer good aging potential, often noted for their value.

## Interesting facts

- Owned by the same family for eight generations.
- Château built between 1876 and 1878.
- Known for Cru Classé quality at Cru Bourgeois prices.
- Early signatory to E.M.S. environmental management.

## Food pairing

The wine's firm tannins and medium body are well-suited to complement the richness of proteins like lamb and beef, softening with each bite. The wine's structure also stands up to richer sauces and earthy flavors found in game and mushrooms, while its fresh finish cuts through fattiness.

## Wine making process

Château Lanessan undergoes fermentation in temperature-controlled concrete tanks, utilizing techniques such as pumping over and rack and return. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for about 12 months in French oak barrels, with a proportion of new, one-year-old, and two-year-old barrels. Grapes are harvested mechanically and sorted optically. The estate is committed to environmental management and preserving biodiversity.
