## About this wine

Château Peyredon Lagravette dates back to 1735 and was owned by the Hostein family for over two centuries. Historically linked to Lord Gaston de l'Isle of the Salle Poujeaux-Moulis estate, it achieved Cru Bourgeois status in 1932. In 2009, Stéphane and Laurence Dupuch, proprietors of Château Sainte-Marie, acquired the estate to fulfill a vision of producing Left Bank Médoc wines. Situated in Médrac on the Grand Poujeaux gravel hillock in the Haut-Médoc AOC, the property sits adjacent to legendary Bordeaux producers.

## Interesting facts

- Dating back to 1735, this estate was classified as a Cru Bourgeois as early as 1932.
- Vineyard density reaches up to 10,000 vines per hectare, planted using historical 1950s massale selections.
- It shares the prized Grand Poujeaux gravel hillock directly alongside legendary estate Château Poujeaux.
- Winemaking is overseen by renowned Left Bank consulting oenologist Éric Boissenot.

## Food pairing

The structured tannins and bright acidity in this Left Bank blend cut through rich meats and fats, while protein interactions soften the wine's grip to reveal lingering fruit and wood spice notes.

## Wine making process

The estate's vineyards are planted at a density of up to 10,000 vines per hectare using historical selection massale vines. Farming is conducted organically and certified HVE 3, with grapes harvested entirely by hand followed by densimetric sorting. Vinification takes place parcel-by-parcel in temperature-controlled stainless steel, concrete vats, and clay amphorae. The wine is aged for 12 to 14 months in a combination of French oak barrels and terracotta amphorae, under the guidance of oenologist Éric Boissenot.
