## About this wine

VINEVINU was established during the 2024 harvest by renowned Portuguese winemaking duo Luís Cerdeira and his son Manuel Cerdeira. Based in the Monção e Melgaço sub-region of Vinho Verde, the estate focuses on expressing the distinct mountain terroirs of Northern Portugal. The CIMA cuvée originates from high-altitude mountain slope vineyards protected from heavy maritime influences, featuring poor granitic soils and significant diurnal temperature swings.

## Interesting facts

- Founded by father-and-son winemakers Luís Cerdeira and Manuel Cerdeira.
- Aged partially in unique Mixtus Barrels made from multiple wood species.
- Grown in high-altitude mountain slope vineyards in Melgaço.

## Food pairing

The crisp mountain acidity and medium-plus body provide a vibrant contrast to rich seafood and delicate white meats, while the subtle oak texture supports mild cheeses.

## Wine making process

Grapes are harvested from mountain slope vineyards in Melgaço. Winemaking combines slow temperature-controlled stainless steel fermentation with partial malolactic fermentation. Following fermentation, 80% of the wine remains in stainless steel tanks to maintain aromatic freshness, while 20% undergoes aging in Mixtus Barrels—custom casks crafted using woods of mixed geographical origins.
