## About this wine

Weingut Claus Preisinger is located in Gols, near Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland, Austria. Claus Preisinger established his estate in 2000 after training under Austrian natural wine pioneers Hans and Anita Nittnaus. He joined the Pannobile association in 2004 and fully converted his vineyards to biodynamic farming in 2006. The vines grow on calcareous limestone and glacial gravel soils on the Parndorfer Platte, benefiting from the warm Pannonian climate tempered by the cooling influence of Lake Neusiedl.

## Interesting facts

- Named 'Fruit Loops' playfully by winemaker Claus Preisinger to highlight its vibrant spectrum of fruit and spice.
- The entire 40-hectare estate has been certified biodynamic by respekt-BIODYN since 2006.
- Aged in a unique combination of neutral oak barrels and traditional Georgian clay amphorae.

## Food pairing

The wine's bright acidity, low tannins, and vibrant fruit character complement dishes with natural richness, such as duck, pork, or mushroom dishes, without overwhelming delicate flavors.

## Wine making process

Grapes are harvested by hand from certified biodynamic vineyards. The fruit undergoes four days of carbonic and semi-carbonic maceration, followed by fifteen total days of skin contact. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous wild yeasts, including completed malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for eight months in large neutral oak casks and Georgian clay amphorae before being bottled unfiltered, unfined, and with minimal sulfur addition.
