## About this wine

Weingut Clemens Busch is a renowned fifth-generation estate located in Pünderich within Germany's Mosel region. Organic pioneers in the region, Clemens and Rita Busch eliminated herbicides in 1976 and fully converted to certified biodynamic viticulture in 2005. Situated at the transition to the Terrassenmosel, the family-run winery focuses on crafting terroir-driven Rieslings that express the complex slate soils of the famous Pündericher Marienburg vineyard slopes.

## Interesting facts

- Clemens and Rita Busch were Mosel organic pioneers, eliminating herbicides in 1976 and converting fully to biodynamics in 2005.
- The estate's historic vaulted barrel cellar in Pünderich dates back to 1663.
- Though labeled as Gutswein, much of the grapes originate from grand cru Marienburg slope parcels.

## Food pairing

High acidity and slate-driven minerality cut effortlessly through rich seafood, goat cheese, and light butter sauces, while the moderate alcohol complements fresh raw shellfish and delicate river fish.

## Wine making process

Grapes are organically and biodynamically farmed and harvested by hand early in the season to maintain natural freshness. Vinification takes place using spontaneous fermentation with indigenous wild yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and traditional neutral 1,000-liter oak casks (Fuderfässern). The wine sits on its fine lees prior to bottling with no synthetic fining agents and minimal added sulfur.
