## About this wine

Collet Brut is a non-vintage Champagne from Maison Collet, a historic house established in 1921. Founded by Raoul Collet, a significant advocate for Champagne growers, the house is the oldest viticultural cooperative in the region. It aims to produce champagnes that embody authenticity, elegance, and finesse, drawing on the harmonious blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. The wine benefits from the unique terroir of the Champagne AOC and is aged in the Maison's historic chalk cellars.

## Interesting facts

- Founded by a leader of the 1911 Champagne Riots.

## Food pairing

The wine's bright acidity and effervescence cut through richness and cleanse the palate, making it an excellent companion to seafood and lighter meats. Subtle fruit notes can complement delicate flavors, while the wine's structure can stand up to richer preparations.

## Wine making process

Collet Brut is crafted from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes. The primary fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. Following blending, the wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle to create its characteristic effervescence. It is then aged on lees for a minimum of 36 months, often longer, in the Maison's chalk cellars. The dosage, the addition of a small amount of sugar and wine before final corking, is typically around 8 g/L, classifying it as Brut.
