## About this wine

The Colline Novaresi Nebbiolo 2021 from Mazzoni is a 100% Nebbiolo wine from the Colline Novaresi DOC appellation in Northern Piedmont, Italy. Producer Tiziano Mazzoni established his winery in 1999, aiming to showcase the unique potential of Nebbiolo in this region, drawing on a family winemaking legacy that dates back to the 16th century. The region's cooler climate and mineral-rich volcanic soils contribute to a distinctively elegant and floral expression of the grape, differentiating it from other Nebbiolo-based wines. The 2021 vintage is characterized by its elegance and versatility. Mazzoni's estate vineyards are located in Ghemme and Cavaglio d'Agogna. The winery produces a limited quantity of wine annually.

## Food pairing

The wine's bright acidity and smooth tannins complement the richness of proteins, while its subtle herbal and floral notes can echo or contrast with ingredients like rosemary and mushrooms. The medium body allows it to pair with a range of dishes without overpowering them.

## Wine making process

The Colline Novaresi Nebbiolo 2021 undergoes fermentation on indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for one year in older French oak tonneaux (500L) or a combination of tonneaux and 1,500L French oak botti. The grapes are hand-harvested and destemmed. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered. Mazzoni's winemaking philosophy emphasizes a non-interventionist approach to allow the grapes and terroir to express themselves fully.
