## About this wine

Vitivinícola Los Amigos SpA, operating commercially as Vinos CoPa, was founded in 2021 by winemaker Rodrigo Agustín Concha Monsalve and partner Sebastián Mauricio Paganelli Romero in Chile's Itata Valley. The project focuses on preserving ancient, ungrafted heritage vines grown by local farming families. Located in the Alto Magdalena sector of Coelemu, just 28 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean, the single 0.5-hectare plot of Torontel benefits from coastal maritime breezes, steep granitic slopes, and traditional dry-farming practices.

## Interesting facts

- Sourced from 100+ year-old ungrafted vines planted on steep 45-degree granitic slopes in Itata.
- Vinified direct-pressed as a crisp white wine rather than the skin-contact orange style typical for Torontel.
- Made from a single micro-plot of just 0.5 hectares in the coastal Coelemu region.

## Food pairing

The bright, mouthwatering acidity and intense white floral aromas of Torontel align seamlessly with delicate seafood, fresh goat cheese, and mild citrus- or herb-driven dishes. Its vibrant freshness cuts through subtle spice while complementary floral notes elevate fresh, aromatic cuisine.

## Wine making process

Grapes are hand-harvested from century-old ungrafted vines on 45-degree slopes and undergo direct whole-bunch pressing. The juice is cold-decanted for two days in stainless steel tanks before undergoing slow, temperature-controlled fermentation. Aged for 12 months in stainless steel on fine lees without oak contact, followed by five months of bottle aging prior to release.
