## About this wine

The Raumland Cuvée Marie-Luise Brut 2018 is a German Sekt produced by Sekthaus Raumland in Rheinhessen. It is a Blanc de Noirs, meaning it is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. The wine is named after Marie-Luise, the daughter of the founders, Volker and Heide-Rose Raumland. Sekthaus Raumland is known for its exclusive focus on Sekt production, employing traditional craftsmanship and extended aging. The grapes are sourced from vineyards in Flörsheim-Dalsheim, characterized by limestone-brown clay and lime deposits, with a southern/southeastern exposure.

## Interesting facts

- A Blanc de Noirs Sekt made from 100% Pinot Noir.
- Named after the founder's daughter, Marie-Luise.
- Volker Raumland is a leading figure in German Sekt quality.
- The first purely Sekt winery to join the VDP.

## Food pairing

The wine's medium-high acidity cuts through the richness of oily fish and creamy sauces, while its structure complements the protein. The subtle fruit notes can bridge with fruit-based reductions, and the wine's complexity can stand up to richer, more savory dishes.

## Wine making process

The Raumland Cuvée Marie-Luise Brut 2018 is produced using traditional Sekt craftsmanship. Grapes are hand-selected and harvested manually. Whole cluster pressing is employed, with only the 'Cuvée' portion of the grape used. The wine undergoes extended aging on its lees for a minimum of 4 years. The 2018 vintage was disgorged in April 2023.
