## About this wine

Founded in 1987 by Robert Drouhin, third-generation head of Maison Joseph Drouhin in Beaune, Domaine Drouhin Oregon is located in the heart of the Dundee Hills AVA in Oregon's Willamette Valley. Guided by fourth-generation winemaker Véronique Drouhin-Boss and viticulturist Philippe Drouhin, the estate blends traditional Burgundian winemaking wisdom with the unique volcanic terroir of Oregon under the ethos 'French Soul, Oregon Soil'. The 2024 vintage highlights a remarkable growing season that yielded pristine fruit balance.

## Interesting facts

- Operates under the guiding philosophy 'French Soul, Oregon Soil' combining Burgundian traditions with Oregon terroir.
- Utilizes a landmark 4-level gravity-flow winery to process hand-harvested estate fruit without mechanical pumping.
- Aged in custom French oak barrels manufactured by the Drouhin family's private cooperage in Burgundy.

## Food pairing

The lively natural acidity and silky, structured tannins of this Dundee Hills Pinot Noir make it uniquely versatile. Earthy components like wild mushrooms match the wine's forest floor nuances, while medium-bodied proteins like duck, pork, and lamb complement the structured dark and red berry fruit core without overwhelming it.

## Wine making process

Crafted from 100% estate-grown Pinot Noir harvested from volcanic Jory clay-loam soils. Grapes were handpicked into small 25-pound totes, rigorously hand-sorted, and 100% de-stemmed. Processing took place using gravity flow inside the estate's custom four-level winery. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled vessels using indigenous and selected yeasts, followed by 12 to 14 months of aging in custom French oak barrels from the Drouhin family's own cooperage in Burgundy (~20% new oak).
