## About this wine

Domaine Eden was acquired by Mount Eden Vineyards in 2007, having originally been founded in 1983 by Tom Mudd. Located just one mile from Mount Eden in the high-elevation Santa Cruz Mountains, the property shares identical geological and climatic advantages. Domaine Eden functions as a complementary estate brand, crafted under the direction of winemaker Jeffrey Patterson with Burgundian tradition to showcase mountain terroir with early accessibility.

## Interesting facts

- Sits just one mile from Mount Eden 'as the crow flies' at over 1,500 feet elevation.
- Aged entirely in neutral oak barrels previously used for Mount Eden estate wines.
- Blends Dijon clones with historic heritage California selections like Swan, Calera, and Rhys.

## Food pairing

The vibrant acidity and soft, integrated tannins of Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir effortlessly balance rich waterfowl, game birds, and tender pork, while earthy undertones harmonise beautifully with wild mushrooms and savory herbs.

## Wine making process

Harvested entirely by hand at yields of 2.7 tons per acre. Fermentation relied 100% on natural indigenous yeasts with 15% whole-cluster inclusion to add structural lift. The wine was aged for 11 months in neutral French oak Burgundy barrels previously used for Mount Eden estate wines, receiving no new oak treatment. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve natural complexity.
