## About this wine

Domaine Vetriccie is situated in Aghione on the Costa Serena along the eastern coast of Corsica. Acquired by the Barcelo family in 1966, the 120-hectare estate is managed by Daniel Barcelo. The estate's name derives from the Corsican word for the indigenous wicker plant that grows near local streams. Certified HVE Level 3 since 2021, the estate emphasizes sustainable viticulture on silty-clay soils rich in ancient marine sediments.

## Interesting facts

- The name 'Vetriccie' comes from the native Corsican word for the wicker plants growing near the property.
- Grapes are harvested exclusively at night to preserve delicate aromatic precursors and protect against oxidation.
- The estate holds HVE Level 3 environmental certification for sustainable viticulture.

## Food pairing

The crisp acidity and bright red berry profile of this Corsican rosé make it a natural match for coastal Mediterranean dishes. It cuts cleanly through soft goat cheeses and cured meats while elevating delicate fish and grilled poultry without overpowering them.

## Wine making process

Harvesting occurs at night and in early morning hours to preserve freshness and avoid oxidation. Juice is immediately drained and chilled to 8°C prior to gentle pneumatic pressing. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats between 14°C and 18°C for 21 days. The wine ages for 5 to 6 months on fine lees in stainless steel vats without oak contact or malolactic fermentation before filtration.
