## About this wine

Dutchess Hill is a natural winemaking project bringing a low-intervention philosophy to Upstate New York fruit. The venture is led by Italian winemaker Nicola Reginaldi, known for his native-ferment wines at Cantina Indigeno in Abruzzo, alongside US partners based in Dutchess County. Sourced from cool-climate vineyards in the Finger Lakes AVA with glaciated slate, shale, and gravel soils, this Riesling offers a unique expression of New York terroir crafted through artisanal Italian natural winemaking techniques.

## Interesting facts

- Created by Italian natural winemaker Nicola Reginaldi of Cantina Indigeno in Abruzzo.
- Features 2 days of skin contact and partial aging in second-passage oak barrels.
- Grown in glaciated slate and shale soils within New York's Finger Lakes AVA.

## Food pairing

The electric acidity and subtle skin-contact texture of this natural Riesling cut through rich pork and duck fats while refreshing the palate against warm Asian spices.

## Wine making process

Farmed using sustainable and organic principles, the Riesling grapes undergo approximately two days of skin maceration to start wild, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Following pressing, two-thirds of the wine ferments in stainless steel tanks to maintain freshness, while one-third ferments in second-passage oak barrels for texture. Aged for around one year in vessel before bottling unfined and unfiltered with zero or minimal added sulfur, the wine rests for six additional months prior to commercial release.
