## About this wine

Ecologica Berlina Organic is an environmentally conscious German white wine crafted in partnership with Ruppertsberger Weinkeller Hoheburg eG, a historic cooperative in the Pfalz region dating back to the 1910s. Today, the cooperative brings together 200 small-scale growers managing 410 hectares of vineyards, and stands as the only sustainability-certified cooperative in the Rhineland-Palatinate region. Under the 'Ecologica' umbrella, this wine emphasizes ecological awareness, fair worker conditions, and carbon-neutral distribution, packaged in an ultra-lightweight glass bottle to minimize its carbon footprint.

## Interesting facts

- Crafted by Ruppertsberger, the only sustainability-certified wine cooperative in the entire Rhineland-Palatinate region.
- Bottled in an ultra-lightweight glass bottle weighing under 420 grams to significantly reduce transport emissions.
- Features an exceptionally low alcohol level of just 8.5% ABV, balanced by a vibrant, off-dry finish.

## Food pairing

The off-dry sweetness and moderate alcohol of this wine make it an exceptional partner for spicy Asian cuisines, where the residual sugar acts as a buffer to tame chili heat. Its crisp acidity cuts through light fats, while the fresh fruit profile complements fresh herbs, vegetables, and delicate seafood without overpowering them.

## Wine making process

The grapes, consisting of 89% Riesling and 11% Rivaner (Müller-Thurgau), are sourced from the Rhein Landwein region and entirely hand-harvested. In the cellar, the juice undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. To preserve its fresh, vibrant fruit character and natural acidity, the wine is aged briefly on its fine lees in stainless steel with no oak influence. Sucrose is carefully integrated to achieve its signature off-dry balance, resulting in a low-alcohol, highly approachable style.
