## About this wine

Englar Cuvée Blanc de Castel is an IGT white wine from Weingut Schloss Englar, produced in the Vigneti delle Dolomiti region of Trentino-Alto Adige. This vintage 2019 cuvée is a blend of Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, and Gewürztraminer. The estate, owned by the Khuen-Belasi family since 1640, resumed winemaking in 2012 with a philosophy focused on producing harmonious, high-quality wines that are true to their varietal and origin. The vineyards are situated at elevations of 450-550 meters on south-facing slopes, with soils composed of Kalkschotter and Porphyr weathering, benefiting from significant diurnal temperature shifts.

## Wine making process

The Englar Cuvée Blanc de Castel begins with manual harvesting of the grapes in September. Fermentation is carried out in open oak barrels, followed by a maturation period of 4-5 months in stainless steel tanks. The vineyards are managed using the Guyot training system on south-facing slopes at an altitude of 450-550 meters. The soil composition consists of Kalkschotter and Porphyr weathering soils. The winery's approach emphasizes careful grape selection, nature-oriented cultivation, gentle processing, and controlled yields to produce wines that reflect their varietal and origin.
