## About this wine

EZY TGR is a fresh, playful line of wines introduced by Ovum Wines, founded in 2011 by husband-and-wife winemakers John House and Ksenija Kostic. Based in Oregon, Ovum is dedicated to low-intervention winemaking that showcases unique Pacific Northwest terroirs. Inspired by traditional Portuguese Palhete wines, this cuvée combines organically farmed white and red grape varieties sourced from volcanic soils and Missoula Flood alluvial deposits across the Willamette Valley and Columbia Gorge.

## Interesting facts

- Inspired by traditional Portuguese Palhete wines, where red and white grapes co-ferment for a vibrant, light red style.
- Half the blend consists of Early Muscat, a rare 1943 vine cross prized for its highly expressive floral aromas.
- The Cabernet Sauvignon component originates from own-rooted, certified organic vines planted in 1983.

## Food pairing

This light-bodied, highly aromatic red wine relies on high acidity and minimal tannins, making it exceptionally versatile. Served chilled, it cuts through rich cured meats, handles light spice in street food, and elevates rustic oven-baked dishes without overwhelming delicate flavors.

## Wine making process

The 2023 blend pairs 50% Early Muscat with 50% co-fermented red varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Pinot Noir, and Mencía. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts takes place in stainless steel tanks, using gentle pump-overs and early separation from skins to preserve floral aromatics without extracting firm tannins. A portion of the blend matures in neutral oak barrels to complete malolactic fermentation before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.
