## About this wine

Finca La Estacada was founded in 2001 by the Cantarero Rodríguez family, aiming to showcase the winemaking potential of the Uclés region in Castilla-La Mancha. The estate is situated on a former property of the descendants of the Marquis of Estacada. This 'Roble' (oak-aged) bottling represents a modern, fruit-forward expression of Tempranillo, sourced from estate vineyards grown at high altitudes of around 850 meters above sea level. The high elevation provides significant diurnal temperature shifts, helping the grapes retain freshness and balance in Spain's warm interior.

## Interesting facts

- The vineyards are situated at 850 meters elevation, which helps preserve acidity in the warm climate of Castilla-La Mancha.
- The winery operates an on-site wine-therapy spa and hotel, making it a major wine tourism destination in Uclés.
- The name 'Roble' refers to the 6 months of oak aging, bridging the gap between a young Joven and a more aged Crianza.

## Food pairing

This medium-bodied, fruit-forward Tempranillo with moderate tannins pairs exceptionally well with grilled meats, savory tapas, and medium-aged cheeses. The wine's bright acidity cuts through the fat of pork and lamb, while its subtle oak notes complement roasted and smoked flavors.

## Wine making process

The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and undergo temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve primary fruit characteristics. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 6 months in American oak barrels, which imparts subtle sweet spice and structure without overpowering the vibrant Tempranillo fruit. It is then aged briefly in the bottle before release.
