## About this wine

Domaine Les Bertrand is located in Fleurie, Beaujolais. Yann Bertrand returned to his family estate after studying business and traveling, where working in Alpine wine bars sparked his passion for low-intervention winemaking. Mentored by Beaujolais legends like Jean Foillard and Yvon Métras, Yann manages old vines in the Grand Pré parcel in Fleurie using biodynamic farming to highlight the purity and granite soil origin of the fruit.

## Interesting facts

- The name Cuvée du Chaos draws inspiration from an unusual keepsake found in Yann Bertrand's grandfather's wallet.
- Yann Bertrand was mentored by legendary Beaujolais natural wine pioneers Jean Foillard and Yvon Métras.
- The grapes are sourced from old vines in the Grand Pré parcel, with some vines over 100 years old.

## Food pairing

High natural acidity, delicate tannins, and vibrant red fruit aromatics pair wonderfully with tender poultry, pork, earthy mushrooms, and charcuterie without masking the wine's ethereal character.

## Wine making process

Hand-harvested Gamay grapes undergo a 20-to-22-day cold carbonic maceration using indigenous yeasts without added sulfur or mechanical extraction. The wine is aged for 7 to 9 months in neutral oak barrels before being racked and bottled unfined and unfiltered according to the lunar calendar.
