## About this wine

Flui is an artisanal collaborative project founded in 2017 by viticulturist Emanuel Frutuoso and natural winemaker Rodrigo Filipe, creator of Humus wines. Based in Óbidos within Portugal's Lisboa region, the project restores old-vine plots influenced by coastal Atlantic breezes. This orange wine, or Vinho Macerado, revives traditional skin-maceration techniques, highlighting the limestone soils and cool maritime climate of the area.

## Interesting facts

- Founded in 2017 through a partnership between viticulturist Emanuel Frutuoso and Humus winemaker Rodrigo Filipe.
- Sourced from old-vine parcels in Óbidos restored by the founders on family-owned land.
- Crafted with skin contact to revive Portugal's traditional Vinho de Curtimenta winemaking.

## Food pairing

The wine's bright Atlantic acidity cuts through rich meats and seafood, while light skin-contact tannins complement roasted herbs and subtle spices.

## Wine making process

Grapes are hand-harvested in small 15 kg boxes from organically farmed old vines. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, and the white grape skins remain in contact with the fermenting juice without any additives. The wine ages on its skins and lees in neutral oak, stainless steel, or cement vessels before being bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal total sulfites.
