## About this wine

Folk Machine was founded by Kenny Likitprakong under The Hobo Wine Company umbrella in Sonoma County, California. Created as an outlet for low-intervention, lower-alcohol California wines, Parts & Labor is crafted in an easy-drinking bistro style fondly referred to as Côtes-du-California. The fruit is sourced from historic, sustainably and organically farmed vineyards across Mendocino County, Suisun Valley, and Arroyo Seco.

## Interesting facts

- The producer donates 1% of gross sales to environmental non-profits through 1% for the Planet.
- Inspired by easy-drinking French table red wines, Kenny Likitprakong calls this blend Côtes-du-California.
- The 2023 vintage features Grenache as the lead grape variety for the third consecutive year.

## Food pairing

The high acidity, lower alcohol, and gentle tannins in this bistro-style red complement savory, rich foods like burgers and pork while cutting through fat. It pairs seamlessly with acidic tomato sauces without overpowering lighter meats.

## Wine making process

Vineyard lots are harvested and fermented separately in stainless steel using native yeasts with zero commercial additions. Vinification incorporates whole-cluster fermentation and carbonic maceration to highlight vibrant primary fruit flavors. After spontaneous malolactic fermentation, the wine ages 75% in stainless steel and 25% in neutral French oak foudres before assembly and early bottling.
