## About this wine

Weingut Scheuermann is operated by brothers Gabriel and Simon Scheuermann in Niederkirchen bei Deidesheim, in Germany's Pfalz region. After taking over the family estate in 2009, they converted the vineyards to organic and biodynamic farming. The Friedelsheimer Rosengarten Chardonnay represents their top-tier single-vineyard Lagenwein, grown on loess, sandstone, and limestone soils between Friedelsheim and Gönnheim.

## Interesting facts

- Sourced from the Rosengarten vineyard, combining loess, sandstone, and limestone soils.
- Brothers Gabriel and Simon converted the family estate to certified organic and biodynamic viticulture.
- Aged on full lees in small wooden barriques for 18 months following wild yeast fermentation.

## Food pairing

This full-textured Chardonnay features crisp acidity, rich lees complexity, and fine oak integration. It pairs best with rich white meats, rich fish dishes, and butter- or cream-based sauces where the acidity cuts through richness and oak notes complement roasted flavors.

## Wine making process

Grapes are hand-harvested and subjected to whole-cluster pressing. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with wild yeasts without temperature control or added enzymes. The wine ages for 18 months on its full lees in oak barriques before bottling unfined with low added sulfur.
